The Hoobah Boobah Language: The Most Difficult In The World

In most languages, there is more than one way of saying "you".  In German, there is "du" if you are speaking to one friend or family member, "ihr" for more than one friend or family member, and "Sie" if you are speaking to one or more adults whom you don't know well.  French has "tu" (informal singular) and "vous" (formal singular and plural).

English is about the only major language with just one way of saying "you": "you".

Hoobah Boobahn has 476 ways of saying "you"!  Until our year 1787 (the year Hoobah Boobahn was simplified), there were 1,173 ways of saying "you".

The Hoobah Boobah language has many levels of respect.  This is why there are so many forms of "you".

  • If you are addressing a newborn baby, the correct form of "you" is "ruxhxhxhtottlemenk"
  • If you are addressing a 3-month-old baby, "you" is "rhukhkhkhzhzhloxxxx"
  • If you are addressing a 3-year-old child, the normal form of "you" is "jqhutllll".  However, there are exceptions
  • If you are addressing a young baseball player (baseball players are high-status individuals in Hoobah Boobah Land), "you" is "pooooooosh"
  • If you are addressing a retired baseball player, you must use the honorific phrase "pluxxhy talllz pooooooosh" ("your most high")

There are 471 other forms of "you" in the Hoobah Boobah language.

War suspended indefinitely

The Hoobah Boobah Ministry of Defense has just released this statement:

"The Kingdom of Hoobah Boobah Land is no longer at war with any other sovereign powerNo hostile action is presently being contemplated against any other group or nation located outside the territorial boundaries of Hoobah Boobah Land."

This brief statement is thought to be in reference to the war Hoobah Boobah Land declared last summer against Argentina, Chile, and South Africa.  To our knowledge, no warlike action took place resulting from that declaration.
