A New Year's Eve Reminder: All Photography of Hoobah Boobah Land Is Illegal!

The Royal Hoobah Boobahn Coast Guard and the Hoobah Boobahn Ministry of the Interior are constantly on the lookout for thrill seekers trying to take pictures of Hoobah Boobah Land.  We have just received yet another reminder from the Hoobah Boobah Land government that ALL CAMERAS OR OTHER PICTURE-TAKING DEVICES DISCOVERED ON HOOBAH BOOBAH LAND SOVEREIGN TERRITORY WILL BE IMMEDIATELY CONFISCATED AND DESTROYED! Here are some cameras recently taken from trespassers:

 

Former President George Bush Talks About Frustration

In a candid interview with a reporter from the Hoobah-Boobah/American Friendship Society newsletter, the former president admits he was frustrated in his efforts to make contact with Hoobah Boobah Land:

"I sent navy ships, the Air Force did skywriting messages, and first lady  Laura Bush even sent a hand-written letter to King Ralph VI.  But no one ever responded.  After a while, I just gave up.  And I had other things to think about."

The 13 Grzzz Bill

The Hoobah Boobah currency is called the "Grzzz" (pronounced "grshsh").  It is worth about $1.03.  The Royal Hoobah Boobah Treasury has been kind enough to send us a facsimile of the 13 Grzzz bill.  It shows Queen Pippazxzx, who reigned from 1207-1245.  She is a revered figure in Hoobah Boobah history, just as Queen Elizabeth I is in British history. Florjabeesh Water-Walkers Win Game 7 of Hoobah Boobah Land World Series!

Thousands of dejected fans of the underdog Nuktor Ice-Wrestlers boarded animal-drawn carts for the long journey back home after an emotional loss to the Florjabeesh Water-Walkers in Game 7 of the 173rd Hoobah Boobah Land World Series.

The game had been tied 3-3 until the bottom of the ninth inning, when Dreexozlt Morzozoz, the all-star 3rd baseman for Florjabeesh, drove in the winning run off Nuktor relief pitcher Zeezlex Xeezoniut.

At a post-game press conference, Nuktor manager Hylt Gurzxzx announced his retirement after 14 seasons and a lifetime won-lost record of 347-185 (the Hoobah Boobah baseball season has fewer games than the American baseball season).

Overjoyed Florjabeesh fans spilled into the streets of the capital in jubilation.  Police reported the crowd as very orderly.

Hoobah Boobah World Series Going to Game 7!

The Florjabeesh Water-Walkers meet the Nuktor Ice-Wrestlers tonight at Stlactushzz stadium in Florjabeesh for the final game in the Hoobah Boobah Land World Series.  These long-time rivals have been battling for six exciting games, which have featured a perfect game by Ice-Wrestlers star pitcher Hoytaxz Glorshzxzx.

No one thought the Ice-Wrestlers would get this far against the Water-Walkers, who have long been the dominant team in Hoobah Boobah Baseball.

War Cancelled

The Hoobah Boobah Land navy's one submarine being broken and repairs suspended for lack of spare parts, and its few other vessels forced to return to port because of high winds, Hoobah Boobah Land has "undeclared" war on South Africa, Chile, and Argentina. 

The Hoobah Boobah Land government has issued a statement:

"Because of a temporary inability to prosecute naval warfare, we have withdrawn all military forces from the open ocean.  We will offer the nations with which we have territorial differences 10 days to demonstrate their respect for the 800-kilometer ocean zone we have declared to be part of Hoobah Boobah national territory.  If respect for this 800-kilometer zone is not forthcoming, the Kingdom of Hoobah Boobah Land will again enter into a state of war with the Republic of Chile, the Republic of Argentina, and the Union of South Africa."

War!

Because the navies and merchant marine vessels of Chile, Argentina, and South Africa refuse to recognize the new 800-kilometer zone claimed by Hoobah Boobah Land, the Hoobah Boobah Government has declared war on all three of the above-named countries.

International law recognizes territorial waters as extending only 12 nautical miles from the coast.  Hoobah Boobah Land is not a signatory to any internationally-recognized agreements regarding territoriality of the oceans.  In fact, Hoobah Boobah Land has no treaties or agreements with any other sovereign powers at this time.  Neither does it maintain diplomatic relations with any other country.
